The Morton Disc Golf Fund
(Pass-Through Project Fund)
This fund was established in November of 2003 by Kip Taufer. The purpose of the fund is to collect charitable contributions which will be utilized to pay the expenses related to the construction of the new disc golf course, “Megiddo @ Westwood Park."
Through your generous donation, you are joining the Morton Park District, Peoria Frisbee Club and the Morton Community Foundation in the construction of the new championship disc golf course, “Megiddo @ Westwood Park” in Morton, and the upgrading and maintenance of the Northwoods Park Disc Golf Course in Morton. Both of these courses are very well designed, challenging, and scenic as they wind through the woods.
Disc Golf is one of the fastest growing sports today. All ages can play together, whether it be for recreation or tournaments. It is a great activity for families to play together, while enjoying the beauty of nature. As an added benefit, Disc Golf provides an avenue for enjoyable exercise.
Morton is blessed with a great course at Northwoods Park, and now with “Megiddo” at Westwood Park, we have a great 1 - 2 punch. These courses will host many tournaments and bring revenue into our town by way of hotel stays, restaurants, and buying gas. The course was designed and built by a lifetime resident of Morton, Kip Taufer. The Peoria Frisbee Club, Plastic Addicts, and volunteers from Morton and surrounding communities have been involved in helping with construction as well. The Morton Park District has been wonderful in so many ways including use of their property and its existing amenities, purchasing of tee baskets, and overall guidance and support.
Bridges, steps, trails, tee pads, signage, basket installation, and benches all require significant finances. Volunteers are also needed to help with construction of the course. Please consider donating to this project. You can download a donation form, or make a donation online below.
