2016 - AAUW EARNS GRANT... MICROSCOPES FOR GEMS PROGRAM

In 2016, the American Association of University Women (AAUW), Morton Chapter sought and received a $350 grant to purchase 4 new microscopes and storage containers for those microscopes, to be used in a program they call GEMS (Girls Excelling in Math and Science).  Here's an excerpt from their grant application talking about the need for the GEMS program and the microscopes...

During the Spring 2016 competitive grant cycle, a $3,725 grant was approved for Lettie Brown Elementary PTO to purchase playground equipment. The Lettie Brown PTO has been working diligently to update their playground to make it more fun and entertaining, as well as to increase a life-long passion for fitness in their students.

The Heidi White Memorial Scholarship Concert was held Tuesday, April 5, 7:00pm at the Bertha Frank Performing Arts Center at MHS. The concert featured the Morton Elementary Choir, MHS Chorale, MHS & MJHS Prelude Strings, The Bum Bums, The B Naturals, emcee Ashlie Antrim with Jake Geiger, and the MJHS Jazz Band with JC & the Redemption!!!
